2008 CYO Basketball Champions!

The Broncos defeated St. Edith's of Livonia, the 2006 CYO Champions, 27-34 to become the 2008 CYO Middleschool Basketball Champions. This is the second CYO championship this year for Our Lady of La Salette as the Cross Country team took the title in the fall.

Kristina Kacy, a parent of two Bronco Cheerleaders was so moved by this Bronco stampede that she wrote an article: The Mighty-Mighty Broncos The 3 A.M. Post-Game Ramblings From An Enthused Bronco Nation Parent. It is a wonderful and inspiring read.

How big is a million?

One Million Pull Tabs!

After ten years, we have finally determined what a million tabs look like! Mrs. de la Osa, who started collecting tabs for charity, was the inspiration for Mrs. Giasson to collect one million. The middle school students have done projects every year to help them comprehend how big one million really is. With help from many people from the extended La Salette family, we finally know what a million tabs look like. In fact, we collected about 1.15 million tabs. That's about 700 pounds of the aluminum alloy! Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan has a 1,000,000 tab challenge and Our Lady of La Salette School is the first to meet this challenge. We are still collecting supplies for the Detroit Ronald McDonald House. The tabs and supplies will remain on display through the end of the month. In March, the tabs will be taken to a salvage company and a check will be sent to Ronald McDonald Charities.

Ronald McDonald House Presentation

Curious what 1,000,000 pull tabs look like? Come see on Thursday, February 28, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at our Open House.
